College of Applied Science, Vattamkulam
The College of Applied Science, Vattamkulam, affiliated with the University of Calicut, was established in the academic year 2005–2006. The permanent campus of the college is situated at Nellissery, on land generously provided free of cost by the V.V.V.V Trust.
Due to the urgent commencement of academic activities, the college initially started functioning at Edappal on 1 July 2005 in a rented building (Ushus Building) as a temporary arrangement. The institution was inaugurated by E. T. Muhammed Basheer, the then Minister for Education, with two undergraduate programmes: B.Sc Computer Science and B.Sc Electronics. Due to the scarcity of built-up space, the college was later shifted to Hidayathu subiyan Madrassa building at Naduvattam during the academic year 2010–2011.
Over the years, the institution expanded its academic offerings. B.Com with Computer Applications was introduced in 2014–2015, followed by the postgraduate programmes M.Sc Computer Science and M.Com Finance in 2017–2018. The college further broadened its academic portfolio with the introduction of BCA in 2024–2025 and BBA (Logistics) in 2025–2026.
The college later shifted to its permanent campus at Nellissery, where a modern academic building with adequate infrastructure and facilities was constructed on land provided by the V.V.V.V Trust. The new campus building and the approach road were inaugurated on 25 February 2017 by K. T. Jaleel, the then Minister for Local Administration.
Today, the College of Applied Science, Vattamkulam continues to strive for academic excellence by providing quality higher education and fostering the intellectual and professional development of its students.
